Unleashing inspiration and revitalisation: Highlights from the CoreNet [Revival] Symposium 2023

24 May 2023, by Chris Ware

The CoreNet [Revival] Symposium took place in Auckland last week igniting a wave of inspiration and knowledge-sharing among attendees. From insightful presentations by industry experts to the captivating stories of urban renewal projects, the Symposium was a hub of innovation and rejuvenation. TwentyTwo’s Chris Ware shares a few moments and key takeaways from this exceptional event.

TwentyTwo

As a proud Gold Sponsor of CoreNet NZ, TwentyTwo made its presence felt with David Lambie taking the stage. David captivated the audience with an account of Tauranga City Council's CBD revitalisation project, offering valuable insights blended with personal anecdotes. David's presentation stirred curiosity and opened doors to innovative ideas in urban planning and development (video of the full presentation coming soon).

Fuelling innovation

Coffee breaks are often a catalyst for networking and ideas exchange at conferences and TwentyTwo was delighted to provide attendees with coffee brewed by fully-trained baristas. With the added convenience of the Conference app, participants could have their coffee delivered right to their tables. The enticing aroma of freshly-brewed coffee filled the Symposium, revitalising attendees and invigorating their energy throughout the event.

Thinking outside the box

The Symposium showcased speakers who dared to challenge conventional thinking in the context of 'Revival'. The event provided a platform for thought-provoking, property-oriented discussions that pushed boundaries and encouraged attendees to explore new perspectives.

Key highlight – James Dyson's Inspiring Spaces

Kahn Yoon from M Moser Associates took the stage to share the remarkable story of Dyson's new global headquarters located in St James Power Station, Singapore. Yoon's presentation highlighted how property can profoundly impact business success by drawing on James Dyson's words, "Ideas need inspiring spaces to grow – away from public scrutiny, surrounded by passionate people who believe in them. The most fragile concepts, if nurtured, possess the potential to change everything." The story of Dyson's tech-enabled sustainable campus served as a testament to the transformative power of purposeful spaces.

The Symposium was a celebration of inspiration, innovation and collaboration. The TwentyTwo Tribe was really proud to be part of the event.
